Pilar Ives didn’t come back to the Cascades to stay. She came to burn what she built — the scent maps her former alpha sold to hunters so they could track omegas through the dark — and then disappear again before anyone noticed she’d been there at all. She has a plan. She has a reason. What she doesn’t have is a way around Calix Sloan.
The Moonveil enforcer is the last wolf she wants to face on a storm-black night with rival coastal wolves already pressing the territory line. But when their scents collide under the rising Cascades moon and a fated bond snaps into place between two people who can barely stand each other, Pilar does the only thing she can: she refuses it. Because in Moonveil territory, a scent bond can be refused — and she will never let fate, or any alpha, make that choice for her.
Then the hunters arrive. Gunshots crack through the pines, escape routes vanish, and Pilar and Calix are forced into the isolated lodge with one brutal agreement between them: no bond, no claim, no touching without consent — just survival until dawn.
